Big toe eczema, how to get rid.
« on: 02/07/2008 20:16:03 »
I have eczema on my big toe. I have had it for 30 years and can't get rid of it. I have tried everything. I used to have more on contact points such as knees, elbows and tops of feet. I got rid of that with steroidal cream from ICI (under the counter as I worked there.) This bit on my toe is so sore and annoying. Can anyone help me get rid of it for good?

"Inclined Bed Therapy" may do the trick, can't see why it won't work with your toe. Works with psoriasis and other skin conditions.

Doctors started to use ultraviolet light to treat eczema after they noticed that some people who had eczema got better in the summer.
Also, we know that ultraviolet light helps people with psoriasis, another kind of skin condition.

I use oregano oil on all sorts of skin problems.  I gave some to my daughters friend who has terrible eczema and it gave her relief of the itching and burning and the rash got better where she applied it.

First of all, there are no miracle medicines or creams that will permanently cure eczema. Long lasting results require changes in your lifestyle. Keep in mind the main goal - strong immune system. It is not only the real cure for eczema but it will also provide you with resistance against majority of diseases.

In 40 years of nursing, I've never seen eczema present as very painful in a single great toe...seen lot's of other things , just not eczema...We call them Podiatrists and other places call them Chiropodists, but I think you would be well-advised to have one look at your toe. Life is so much more rewarding when you have two functional ones

By the way, stealing medicines and self-medicating is a bad idea in just so many ways. Besides that, if you have to screw up, for God's sake. don't do it with steroids.

You're lucky you didn't end up like poor McGillicudy.....
