Your last ever meal
« on: 21/07/2008 23:23:06 »
I have just eaten A nice, big pork chop with kidney on the side. I had it with sweet corn, garlic bread and grilled tomato. I bought most of the ingredients from my local farmers market (apart from the corn.) This is one of my favorite meals but my last meal would have to be a roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings. I also love chicken super noodles with peas and broad beans plus some chicken. I think if I had a stomach large enough I would also squash in some chips and egg or just poached egg on toast. I'd like to eat all this in the Vesuvius restaraunt, on Bournemouth beach, on a hot sunny day. Then I would die in my sleep lying in the sand.

What about you lot, last meal or meals and method of popping your cloggs or buying the farm!

I am not sure what all the details would be but the centerpiece would be a stall-raised Black Angus rib eye steak, grilled medium rare, finished with a sharply herbed parsley, basil, tarragon, garlic and chive triple brie lightly covering the top of the steak, administered just before removing the steak from the grill. Added to this would be courses of a lightly dill and caper poached salmon and a very light artichoke-shrimp soup in a chicken base. Asparagus would be somehow involved as would the humble potato - as addressed by a cordon bleu chef. It would be finished by a very sinful Italian sweet with a minimal chocolate content of 50%.

Other than that, I can't be specific. Sorry.

Oh, hagis should never be mentioned in this discussion excerpt as the last meal for a very hated dog, preferably with arsenic added.

That French provincial dish where sliced potatoes, bacon and onions are casseroled together in a white sauce with cheese in it - like a civilised tartiflet.

A lack of apreciation (and spelling) of haggis and cruelty to animals in one post.

I think the traditional scenario for being offered a last meal is the "condemned man". I doubt I will end up in that position but if I am, can I have fried brains please? Specifically the brains of whoever condemned me to death.

Up until the last post I have been drooling on my laptop and it is now making an odd noise (the laptop, not the drool.)

No I don't want a condemned man senario. I want to know, after eating how and where you would prefer to die.

A sudden massive heart attack after a couple of days of continual sex - interrupted, of course, by meals of cullinary ecstasy.

I didn't know you could cook ecstacy tablets! Does this stop the dehidration problem?

No, the water it takes to wash down the Viagra does the job.

I would have my favourite potato salad with cold roast beef and chutney with a leafy salad containing tomatoes, rocket, chicory,
radichio(sP) radishes and homemad salad dressing.

For dessert - Strawberries and cream
