Who would 'they' be, then?
Did no one else get involved with the project?
If you are looking to expose conspiracies then go to big business and International Politics. `They are much less transparent and have many more vested interests. Mind you - if you get too close you might find yourself 'interfered with'.

As for the meat of your argument: Rocks look like rocks, to the uninitiated, wherever they are. Perhaps you could ask them to take a photo of the sky so they would have to photoshop in a view of what you'd see from Mars on that date. I'm sure they could do that too!

Did the launch vehicle just crash? Or what did they do with it? I thought it was quite possible to track such objects to quite a distance, these days, so it must have started its journey, at least.

I doubt it but..

At the Tucson control centre "they" have a life sized stage set complete with background, rocks and lander so an Australian desert would not be needed to fake anything.

Have a look here and you will see what its like.

I am suspicious about the ice claim though. I have seen white marks like that made on rocks from a digger shovel and those also disappeared after a few days. The claim that "it must be ice" I think is a bit thin.

In the first link the editor didn't spell Phoenix properly.

There aren't any diggers on Mars. Are there?  ???

No. They are all in Australia - faking a landscape.

(You probably need to be ancient to get that one!)

The digger shovel is on the lander and used to place samples in the oven.

It seems to be having problems though.

Why do I get the feeling there is some sarcasm afoot here? Could it be your name?
