Look at this. It's Dave Short's avatar.

To me, that looks like a chef having his naughty bits tickled by a black guy who's standing behind him!

I suspect you have a dirty mind, and have now planted a seed of rudeness in the minds of the more impressionable forum members!

You just can't trust these Cantabrigiensian lads, you know - at least, that is the "chatter" around the countryside. The whole institution supposedly started with dons from Oxford vacating the vicinity of that city after a wild party where a woman was "violated" and murdered. Two of the offenders directly responsible were caught and subsequently hung, with the consent of the King; so in 1209 some of the rogue perverts from Oxford got together east of Oxford to form Cantab.

Now, one cannot take all of this as actual fact, but the pall of, and continued rumors of, libidinous conduct has hung over this institution since its inception.

It is again a question of "what are they up to?" The mere fact that it is "The Naked Scientist," not "The Inquisitive Scientists" or "The Well-Haberdashed Scientists" does causes a modicum of concern, esp. in the C.O.E.

Does all this mean that our allegiance may have been misplaced and our trust violated? I do hope this is not the case but the somewhat rude sigil "Dragon Dave" has chosen to use does raise these doubts and questions.

I think I'll drop a line to the Sun. They will get to the bottom of this!

You're right - that lot are obsessed with sex; they devote whole synods to it.

Judging by his avatar, Dave has a feather duster fetish.

Job centre advertises for naked cleaner, 10 an hour (but only 6 if you're fully clothed)

A job centre has been carrying an unexpected advert - for a naked cleaner.
The advert is one you might expect to see in a top shelf magazine or on an X-rated internet site.
But the job of naked domestic help is one of the positions Southampton Jobcentre Plus has been offering to the Hampshire city's unemployed.

The advert, from a company called Knobs 'n' Knockers, says: 'Required for household cleaning duties in the nude.
Pinny provided. Must have pleasant nature.'

Lucky applicants could expect to earn 10 an hour - compared with 6 for fully-clothed cleaners.

In its advert, the company stated it was looking for applicants of either sex to make washing-up and ironing more erotic for its punters in the South-East.
The advert urged candidates to send an email outlining their credentials for the role.

A Department for Work and Pensions spokesman said it could not refuse to carry the advert.

The naked cleaner job gives a whole new meaning to Mr Mopp's catchphrase.

Do you mean that having the cleaning lady clothed is normal? I'll be snookered. My cleaning girls always clean for me in the nude - wouldn't have it any other way.

Perhaps in you dotage, used so blithely above as an excuse for your declining prowess at being a curmudgeon, you couldn't clean out your ears well enough to realize that there are such item that improve eyesight; items that I use everyday, all day, called eye glasses, spectacles, whatever you wish to name them.

In case you have never been exposed to this information before, THEY CAN BE USED TO CORRECT YOUR VISION, INCLUDING MYOPIA!

Just a little information for you "dotage."

(For the unenlightened among you, this person to whom I am responding is just a crotchety old dodger.)
