Contraceptive pill
« on: 18/08/2008 22:47:29 »
How affective is this at preventing pregnancy, the circumstance i am most eager to know, is, after the 7 day break, if the pill is not taken, but unprotected sex happens, is there a chance the woman can become pregnant, is this increased because of not taking the pills?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There's always a chance (allbeit low) a woman can become pregnant even if they take their pill religiously.

After the 'sugar' tablets the average time until ovulation is about 14 days. However that does not mean a woman cannot get pregnant, it's just less likely.

Statistically the woman has the odds, to be sure one can take the 'morning after' pill available at a chemist (at least here in Aust it is).

Good luck

(resists the urge to soapbox)
