luke  asked the Naked Scientists:

Hello Chris and Dave and Kat.

This is Luke, the drummer in New York.

I recently went on vacation and had a margarita in a plastic cup that was opaque / white when empty and when they poured the cold drink into it, it turned bright pink! I was wondering what material this cup is made of, and what kind of chemistry is going on.

As a matter of fact, it was so cool, that i brought it back home and I am drinking a glass of water out of it right now.

Thanks so much!
Luke, the drummer in New York.

What do you think?
