Dearest All,

As a sheepy I am of course always questioning the nature of our exit holes and what comes out for them !

Here's some yummy fruity boiled sweets !

Nice eh ? I like the red ones !....and blackcurrant ones too ...and ewe ?

Anyway, as I suck on these they turn into liquid...so do they come out as Wee-Wee or does the syrupy stuff become Poo-Poo?

Hands up all who wants to know ?....1.2..3.....4.......864759596 !..WOW !!

We better get an answer then !!

Hugs et les shmisheys

I like the red Cherry ones, and the butterscotch ones! Ummmmmmmm

Now When sugar is heated it becomes liquid but when it cools it is more solid in form... but the body warms it up but is it warmed enough to stay liquid....hmmmmmm, I think it is probably both passed into the urine as some liquid but I assume it goes through the system into the stool also..

When I think about diabetics, I think that sugar becomes liquid faster and therefore can get into the system faster,.. Like when you give a diabetic juice or a candy bar to immediately bring a balance to out of a diabetic coma..so maybe more liquids and we pee it out.. it goes to our blood and they check our blood sugar so the body absorbs it into the bloodstream.... it may remain a liquid.. I think.....

The sugar (which is most of what the sweets are made of) is oxidised in the body to CO2 which is exhaled.

Thank Ewe Karen and thank ewe Bored Chemist.

So, sweet's are absorbed rather than pass through !

I originally thought, like Karen, that something must be expelled through one way or another...didn't occur that it may simply be absorbed !...or as ewe say oxidized and then exhaled as breath !

Thank Ewe very much.

No fibre in a sweetie unless it is Exlax. I have a vague memory that Exlax chocolate used to have a picture of a toilet on it. Actually I don't think Exlax has fibre in it so as an extra question, How does Exlax work?

Neil are you becoming an Arsologist by any chance?

Exlax used to rely on this stuff
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenolphthalein
but now they use senna. Both materials work by irritating the gut and the gut responds  by getting rid of it.
