I saw a cartoon in a broadsheet newspaper. It was of the Chinese space walker and there are two aliens talking. One says to the other "Did you order a Chinese?"

This is all very jolly but it shows that people in the west can't accept what a power the Chinese have become. Their space program is going to outstrip the American one and leave Europes efforts a joke so why don't we salute the fact that although we don't like their politics we have to agree they are becoming an equal.

And their spy network that has made the whole effort possible - along with the technology the west has sold them.

Britain has to be prize winning at selling all its technology and then ending up on its backside!

The US cannot be very far behind, if any.

Defeatest! If enough people want a change they can make it happen. It is change itself that people can't get their head around.

The quote is from a psalm I presume. Those religious guys had no guts.

"Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can, and
the wisdom to know the difference."

This was St Francis of Assisi, who, for a religious type seems to be quite nice - what with feeding those little birds and all. :)

OK I take it back, I'm not really into Saints so if you say he was nice then I'll trust your judgement. Did he come from A-sissy.

Incidentally, if the Chinese are so great why did they fake the coverage of their space mission? It's said they broadcast the "live" coverage before it happened.

I (as an American) actually think its a great thing that the Chinese are kickstarting their space program.  A little competition goes a long way in advancing technology by leaps and bounds, as long as it doesnt become a military competition as well.  We should have been on Mars over a decade ago.
