Why Do We Get Restless Laying On One Side ?
« on: 06/10/2008 18:45:23 »
Dear People who lay !

As a sheepy I of course like to lay...here I am pretending to be a pillow !

snarf snarf chortle guffaw !!

Do ewe notice how I am being hugged by a girly who is on her side ?...in a while she'll get restless and turn over !

why's that then ?..why do we get comfortable on one side and then something happens yes ?..ewe have a feeling that ewe just have to turn over !..what is this things that happens and why does it make ewe turn ?

ewe see..I just don't know !

To find out I spent all night last night at the side of my neighbours bed and spent all this time prodding him with a stick....he kept turning all the time but I found no answer was forthcoming !...all he did was gibber and shake and what seemed to be display signs of a breakdown !!..can't think why !

Do ewe know why ewe get restless on a comfy side and thus have to turn ?

tell me will ya

Thanking ewe

Pressure spots.

All the bony protuberances push against the skin restricting blood flow.. you shift to relieve this pressure.

In fact we do it all the time. Slight shifts in the way we are seated, stand, however we are positioned occur all the time. Mostly we don't take much notice of the shifts because we are otherwise distracted... while sleeping we have two factors to make us notice more 1. we are not as distracted and 2. your body is in more contact with a surface therefore more pressure points.

no offence, but I'm glad I'm not your neighbour.

I more think the pressure comes from the inside, in the digestive system, and we turn as ewe turns, to aid and abet the progress of that what we ate.

I agree with the pressure points as I get sore in one spot even when it is my most favorite spot to lay.. My hips or back get sore  and ache, so I turn off to rest it, then soon move back into cuddle position.. my favorite spot! LOL..

physiologically speaking, there is a nocturnal rhythm going on where the time length of sleep cycle(s) relates not overtly to perception of comfort/discomfort but to other factors. this is quite evident in the dreamworld which seems to be used to bring us out of deep sleep to attend to bathrooming requirements. dreams tend to go toward the frustration type of situations to force wake-up. therefore comfort/discomfort are perceptions we are aware of once awake but are not the causative factors. as i see it

I have a great deal of trouble sleeping due to pain in my hips and shoulders but have had insomnia for years.. but I am always physically aware of tender spots that wake me to turn over even on the nights I sleep.

as i said, awareness of the discomfort at awakening doesn't necessarily account for it's occurrence.
why would you have such hip & shoulder pain? found no way to make it go away yet?

I am aware of the discomfort while I am dreaming and literally have to wake up to move away from the painful spot,,

I have a degenerative bone problems with Arthritis.. also have many tender spots and joint problems. We are working on it a way to stop the pain..

Need a shoulder replacement damage in rotator cuff and Arthritis.. So The answer is NO!

Where do you live that it is 75 degrees.. warm.. Nice.. perfect weather.. LOL! I am doing physical therapy for it!

Why do you think that Neily's question may have nothing to do with pressure points.. what do you mean about the digestion thing where it applies to why we turn over from a comfortable spot!

south central florida where the everglades begin.
about the other, i feel that much that is explained as to how the body functions ignores the larger part of our physiology and is centered on just a few narrow aspects of common perceptions.
