Cris asked the Naked Scientists:

Hello Chris!

Is there any way to measure brain waves whilst a person is talking on a cell phone?  I initially thought about using an MRI scan, but I figured the cell phone radiation would interfere with the frequencies used by the machine.

Any ideas?

What do you think?

Brainwaves are measured using electrodes attached to the scalp : an electroencephalogram.

The activity of different areas of the brain can also be measured using a functional MRI.
