Failed bankers are getting bonuses. Tony Blair is getting paid loads of money for peace keeping in the middle East. A farmer near me got paid 3000 for not breeding pigs this year. Have you ever done something so incompetent that you think it deserves the bonus treatment? Or have you not done something you normally do that you should be paid 3000 for?

I paid the London Congestion Zone charge one day, but the job got cancelled at the last minute, so I didn't go into the zone. The agro with trying to get a refund is unbelievable, so I gave it up.

A couple of weeks later, I went into the zone and, unusually of me, forgot to pay the charge. I got a 50.00 fine.

Don't you just love the fairness of our great nation.

When my husband was working in a laboratory he sent a horse hair hydrometre off to be mended. It took three months to be returned. It arrived back and David took it out of its packaging. He realised that he would have to show it to his boss along with the invoice for the repair. His boss was out so he stuffed the invoice into a hole at the top of the hydrometre and placed it on his bosses desk. He didn't realise that the hole was where the horse hair was threaded through and stuffing the invoice in there immediately broke it. Sadly this is why it had been sent away in the first place to replace the broken horse hair.
I think he deserved at least 30,000 bonus for that!

Did he really? Can you prove it? This is another one of those twisted news stories that everyone takes as gospel.

Paul - there is an element of truth to it. Many farmers have received compensation for a reduced production in various areas. Along a similar vein and to show that it is incompetence rather than conspiracy, there was also a time when DEFRA paid farmers to not only grub up hedges, but to also plant them.

An element, there always is, but this one is not to be taken as face value gospel and has been doing the rounds for a few years.

You and the lady (sic) may find this amusing..

Can I get a bonus for failing to destroy the world? I hev been trying for ages and we are all still here. If you give me a big enough bonus I will stop trying.

Someone sent a letter to my friend apologising for her companies incontinence. A bonus and a packet of nappies to that person.
