Yes, yes that is exactly what we look like !!

Wonderful !

I'm a little teapot
Short and stout
Here is my handle
Here is my spout

When I get all steamed up
Hear me shout
"Tip me over
and pour me out!"

The same artist also depicted a personification of America.

It's obvious that the first pic is an American fake. In the UK we know that Ceylon is called Sri Lanka now.

True, but the tea is still called Ceylon.
Incidentally, not all of us are in black and white these days.

The man is obviously not British. No British male would just drop his hat on the floor. It would be hung on the hallstand.

To be the archetypal Brit, the hat should be a Bowler and there should be a brolly. He is wearing brown shoes with a black suit...
Also, the pot on the table is a coffee pot, it should be a tea pot.

Sorry Karen!!! Otherwise, it's a nice clean plate.

He is wearing brown shoes with a black suit...

What is wrong with that?
It was certainly acceptable, considered smart even, when I was at school in the late '50s - my headmaster did that and senior prefects were allowed to as well.

Brown shoes and a black suit! I'm shocked. No No No! It is like wearing red and green!

Red and green is discordant ...

This is another Peter Howsen painting of British people "out on the town": for a less cynical version see Beryl Cook
