Being worried and sad makes me anxious.

Bills, ill pets, even silly stuff like changing light bulbs
on stepladders and I am scared of heights. Have been since I was
10 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worrying about friends makes me anxious, plus loads more that I can't
recall right this minute

I was in this sort of anxiousness when young. Then an old geezer told me that we are here to ask questions - seriously, this happened - and that anxiety slowly left me.

Now, what makes me anxious is what I see coming down the chute with the economy as it is right now in the U.S. THAT is a reason to be anxious. And I am a Democrat!

On a normal basis, anxiety is okay. It is our defense mechanism. However, when your anxiety is beyond normal, then you surely wouldn't want to experience it.

Haha! I didn't seem to answer your question. When you are worried about something then you are anxious. That is how anxiety feels like. =)

I used to fear my own death as a teenager. I couldn't get my head around not being here. Now  realise that 80 odd years is plenty of time to taste this world.
I get anxious about driving to places especially ones I haven't been before and that are near a big city and involve lots of traffic. I've never been a confident driver. I have to go to a conference in Dorking tomorrow and I'm already Kacking myself. Silly but tis my own.

Clinical anxiety is a different beastie from feeling anxious in the same way that clinical depression is not the same as feeling a bit low. Both can be very debillitating.

I'm not sure of the exact clinical definition of anxiety but put simply it's when you are worried about something 24/7. It can range from mild to severe and there have been cases of people committing murder solely because of anxiety.

There can be physical symptoms involved too such as tachycardia, profuse diaphoresis (that's sweating to you & me), dyspnea (problems with breathing) and even a change in skin colour.

Anxiety attacks (sometimes called panic attacks) often involve asthma-like symptoms.

Sometimes, it's not just commiting murder. You also tend to take your own life. In my case, I was always thinking on how to die but of course it's wrong and I don't want to do it. I believe and I must believe that this is only not because of our way of thinking but medically speaking, it is an illness like a fever or what not that seeks medication. I'll take DBs advice. I'll consult a GP or a general physician first to achieve a better diagnosis.
