Since there are many young budding, youthful blossoming and adult flowering scientists here, does anyone think that there should be a repository somewhere on the forum for scientific positions vacant or somewhere that colleges could advertise for various courses? Since there are many very highly qualified people here, they may be in positions where they have openings or opportunities that could benefit others here.

Just a thought.....

For example? You got anything in mind? Like what positions?

Whatever positions are vacant. I was wondering whether this forum could be used as an untapped resource for employment or student exchange opportunities.

I think thats a great idea!!
It would be good as its more informal here, and a good chance to get to know people before they apply, or to get to know about a prospective employer or business before applying.

That's right. Or a "first-stop-shop" for information about resources, such as where to apply for particular science jobs and opportunities. I wish that there had been something like that when I was at school - or perhaps there was, but access was somewhat obfuscated.

Well I shall be churned out onto the job market in a few years, slightly more edcucated I hope! So it would be of great help to me.
And like you said job opportunities going, or any interesting DPhils etc.
All it would entail is another forum, perhaps under this general section with the usual disclaimer etc...and if the jobs were posted by profession/field/discipline then i would be easy to search
