Yes, you cheated and called me with a list of minerals a mile ling, asked me "is it this," "is it this."

You finally gave up and begged me to tell you so I did. If you post the answer - your banned.

I HAVE THE POWER!!!!

A D- in calculus is coming up.

Impudent Brat

C4
We were speaking first about a telephone conversation we had about 1:30 PM our time. (We have the misfortune of living in the same city so he comes over all the time for food. He is just a poor student - monetarily and otherwise.) We have since deteriorated into utter madness. Is that why you dropped by?

Not mad...apparently Im just a mental masochist.  Plus, JimBob is actually a very lovable guy (and a good cook)...though he would never let you know that here.

Contrary to the ravings of a certified loon, I am actually a pretty damned good student.  BUT...I have developed a love/hate relationship with my calculus book.  And btw, oh acerbic one...a D is not imminent.  I could very well end up with a B after the curve, depending on how I handle these last two exams (and how much time I waste defending my honor on the forum!)  :)

Back to calculus *ugh*

No, that is a silvery crystal and square, i.e., cubic crystal system.

.... i.e., cubic crystal system.

Do you read and comprehend at the same time? Or is this just your explosive wit, C4?

Did you mean: that (galena) is a silvery crystal and square, i.e., cubic crystal system?
Or: that (the thing in the first post) is a silvery crystal and square, i.e., cubic crystal system.

What I wanted to know was: What is the crystal system for that (the thing in the first post)?

Cubic system for galina. The given crystal is not (I just love being sarcastic)

He gets a guess or two - besides I asked the question. I really do not want to give it away to Bass.

He is probably resting with his wife. He hasn't been home for two weeks!!

Hey Y'all--

Long(ish) time lurker.... 1st time poster :)

Okay now, noting that my rock and mineral identification skills are pretty rudimentary (I am a would-be lapidary and collector of rocks 'n' stuff, not a geologist) - I have been flipping through field guides lately though. I will still hazard a guess based on the photo and minimal detail given.

Also... fwiw, is there any way to get a sense of scale on that photo?

In any case, is the displayed mineral _manganite_?
