Why is omega 3 bottled in dark colored bottles?

Is there some sort of light sensitivity or something that would hurt its effectiveness or something?

It has a warning about heat exposure, but I have wondered about the dark bottle.

 Any guesses?

I believe they become oxidised which may give rise to unacceptable flavours and odours in the oil, possibly ruin digestibility of the oil, and produce free radicals which can damage or destroy body cells.

Already have too many  destroyed body cells! brain cells seem to be wher the largest loss is at the moment! Lol

Thanks for that! so basically do you mean it could cause the oil to break down or perhaps become rancid?
