Councils in Britain are spending a crazy amount of money cleaning up dog mess. To raise awareness they have named this week as poop-a-scoop week. Can you think of ways of making sure dog owners clean up after their pooches.

I was at a BBQ a couple of weeks ago and a lab pooped in the garden. The dog then got excited with all the people around and then suddenly ate all its own poop...job done.

Typical dog... they do the same with other dogs poop and vomit also! YUCK!

They could encourage it by posting doggie bags and cans for disposal stratigically placed in parks as some already do!

Yes:

#1 - Scoop it up and follow the bugger home, then pop it through their letter box!
#2 - Force them to tread in it!
#3 - Rub their noses' in it!
#4 - Go to their home and crap all over their garden!
#5 - Flog them to within an inch of their life.

Bring back the UK dog licence* to cover the clean-up cost.

(* no it's not cheaper if your dog is black & white  :) ).

That is a very old joke!

It would have to be : the UK dog licence was scrapped two decades ago.

What about a dog licence, (a.k.a. dog tax),  proportional to the dog's size:

this is only fair as the bigger the dog the more “mess” it will create.

It would also dissuade Mr & Mrs Chav from having the biggest (& nastiest) type of dog .

[Although I don't fancy the job of measuring/weighing their rotweiler-ridgeback crossbreed]
