Here's a brainteaser:

A man gets lost in a forest, and stumbles upon two identical twins.
They're the only ones that know the way out.
One always tells the truth, and the other always lies.
What question do you ask them that would lead you out of the forest?

ULTIMA:
quote:
You ask both of them: 'Do you know the way out of here?' The one that says yes is telling the truth since you know they both know. So you grab the truthful one and force them to lead you out . In fact there are loads of solutions, ask 'Do you both tell the truth?' the one that says no wins. The harder version of this is if you can only ask one question to one of the twins . Heh you aint gunna catch me out with that kind of logic I deal with it everyday all day programming! Or if you want directions say: 'If it is at all possible to get out of the forest, please give me the directions to escape, otherwise say nothing.'

RAZOR:
quote:
That's incorrect actually, because the one that lies will never speak the truth,so if you said 'do you know the way out?',they'll both say yes,and remember, you cant tell them apart, they're twins.
That's unless you already know that and just could'nt be bothered to give the correct term.

MEMASA:
quote:
I would ask: 'How to get lost in the forest?' And the one who ALWAYS lies tells you how to get out of the forest.

RAZOR:
quote:
Would'nt work, the one who always lies would probably tell you to keep a map or stay on the paths

I was meant to change one bit in that brainteaser,it's where it says they both know the way out, only the truthful one knows the way out

Wouldn't you need to come up with a question that would give both a lie and the truth? But still they would answer similarly.

Here's an example:

"Do you believe in God?"

The liar doesn't believe in God, but since he/she is pathological case he/she answers "yes".
The truthful one does believe in God and answers "yes" because it is the truth.

But still you wouldn't know which one is which. *sigh* It's like asking "Do you know the way out?"

I would ask: "Which one of you is lieing?" Of course they'll both answer "He is!", pointing at each other and then start fighting.

(I know, I'm a twin)!!! ;)

Now my job is to pray for the truthful one to win.

The "truth" always wins, at least in Hollywood movies!

The answer is to the center. Because when it gets to the center it will be running out the forest! DUH!!!

I have another:
An archeolegist finds a coin in the ground and the coin says on it "100 B.C" So he says the coin was made in 100 B.C.
Was he telling the truth?

nope. How can a coin have B.C written on it? B.C stands for Before Christ. DOI! the name "B.C" was made after The time.

I've put this one  on here before so NO going and looking for the answer.

One completely sealed room, no windows, just one solid door. One light bulb inside the room. three light switches outside the room. Using any combination you like of turning the swithces on or off, how can you determine when you go in the room which switch turns the light ON ?..you can only go in the room ONCE !
