Can someone please make a good web browser??
« on: 05/11/2009 17:08:04 »
Hey there

I'm a software developer and I am still trying to find a decent web browser.

Obviously IE is useless - its slow and crashes alot, and also less user friendly than ever before.

Mozilla firefox is allright, still missing some much needed functionality, like auto javascript error display (like in IE). Currently you have to open the error console manually to see if there is anything inside --STUPID!

Opera is the same as firefox but faster and better. It also has the problem of javascript errors being hidden, what a joke!

Chrome is almost worse than IE, but luckily chrome is a little faster..

So if anyone knows any good web browsers let me know, cos im still searching

You can set any browser to debug mode with its preferences/settings.

For a good browser,
Usually SeaMonkey.

most people don't want full debug mode so it's usually off by default at install.

There are a wealth of addons for Firefox, for your needs, there is Firebug:

Personally I prefer FireFox, but also use IE from time to time. It is all essentially free software, so dont complain too much  ;)
Browsers have come a VERY LONG WAY since the birth of HTML. Anyone here remember LYNX? Now I am showing my age.

I use K-Meleon like neilep, and I do code a lot of pages, but I've just used the error console up to now for debugging. Have forgotten to try debug mode.

Although I use several different web browsers, depending on what I am doing, two are particularly notably positive:

Firefox..... good in a lot of ways.  Try it, you may like it.  Stable, effective good feel.

Opera.  I have been using it since 3.x (mid 1990's)...  Again, try it.

Every web browser has its pros and cons. I've used many different browsers in my life and honestly, I don't find any of them as useless. Every browser is good for some specific purpose. My top favorite is, however, Firefox. You can customize it with add-ons and stuff. Its fast and easy to use.
