ok no i now hydregen i know hangs around in pairs H but helium does not, this is because of the energy it takes too much energy to make dihelium.

It has to do with filling orbitals.
The Hydrogen atoms have 1 electron, but need 2 to fill their K shell (which only has an s-orbital with 2 electron vacancies), so they pair up and both Hydrogen atoms share their electrons so they've both filled their K shell.

Helium however is quite happy on it's own, because it already has 2 electrons and thus fills it's K shell on it's own.
