Why does eyesight blur when the eye is rubbed?
« on: 08/12/2009 12:00:06 »
When I rub my eye (with my eyelid closed) my vision blurs for several tens of minutes. What is causing the blur? Is it the lens distorting it's shape, the cornea buckling, the viscous fluid in the eye itself, pressure on the retina, or some other factor?

Eye'll be looking out for an answer.

That's quite a very long time is it not? On my attempt, it lasted about 1 second.
