Google is constantly updating the satellite coverage in Google Earth, keep checking back every couple of months for better satellite photos.

I have tried to find my home with it's appropriate postcode with Google Earth's satellite
and I have been told that my home doesn't exist. When I use flashearth it finds quickly.
So updated or not. I know which website I prefer.

Thanks Bass I will keep trying.. I have looked many times But all I can ever see is kind of a blurry way distant look at the property. We do not live in a big city o kind out in the county.. I have noticed that the cities and towns are much better shots.. London and big places are very clear for the most part!

Mine I can't even tell what is what on the property I can see it because I know the layout on my plot, but thats it!.. I honestly haven't checked it for several months so I will keep checking! So far for the last two and 1/2 years I have seen no improvement.

Karen
Recently checked your area on Google Earth- I could make out cars, individual trees, buildings, maybe even large farm animals (shadows looked like cattle).  Long shadows to the north suggests a winter photo?

I tried Google Earth again earlier this evening. It says the same thing that
my home still doesn't exist which is daft. IMO

Still no details in mine! I see the lot a blurred rooftop but nothing really recognizable!

After years of working with high altitude photos, maybe blurred rooftops seem normal to me??

If you can't/won't install Google Earth, you can still see much of the imagery simply by going to http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl and then clicking the "satellite" button at the top of your chosen map.
I think you'll find the most detailed images are actually aerial (light-aircraft) photos rather than satellite pictures, in fact. They're detailed enough to resolve the single line of paving stones leading up my garden the front gate to the front door!

In the full-blown Google Earth the 3D fly-over is fun. I especially like to flick the mouse so it flies horizontally very slowly, e.g. from North Wales to Kent.
