Damon asked the Naked Scientists:

Hi All,

Just found you guys on itunes. I've been listening to all your podcasts 57 more to go.

My name is Damon Soo from San Leandro, Calif. in the U.S.A.

My question is why does your nose run when the weather is cold?

Thanks, Damon

What do you think?

I raised that question last year and got an answer, Damon. It's all to do with the way the mucous membranes work. See here:
