How was the concept of time derived?
« on: 15/02/2010 22:39:25 »
How was the concept of time derived?  I see comments from rather learned scientists that state that time originated with the Big Bang.  I had always thought that time was just something made up by mankind to account for the 24 hours in the day.  Thanks for comments.  Joe L. Ogan

i guess time started the moment the big bang occurred. the 24 hour cycle is because of earth's 24 hour rotation along it's axis to make one day.

If there were 24 hrs in the day for mankind to account for then time already existed.

It's not just a concept, as the effects of time dilation show.

Time is a dimension of existence like height width and depth are physical measurements. Anyhting that exists as a physical object must take up space in some volume. So must it exist for a duration of TIME no matter how brief. We exist i four dimensions; height, width, depth and DURATION.
