What plants can be used to repel insects ?

What plant can be used for repelling insects? We have a project bout it and I need an idea1 :)

I've heard rosemary bushes are natural insect repellants. Anything citrus. And, of course, the carnivorous plants. (Not so much a repellant as, well, you know.)

Marigolds planted in between your tomato bushes repels the bugs.

PENNYROYAL (Mentha pulegium)
FLY AND INSECT REPELLENT PLANT

NIGELLA (Nigella damaseena)
FLY AND MIDGE REPELLENT PLANT

LARKSPUR (Delphinium consolida)
FLY AND MIDGE REPELLENT PLANT

WORMWOOD (Artemesia absinthium)
MOTH AND INSECT REPELLENT PLANT

GREEK OREGANO (Origanum vulgare)
FLY AND MOSQUITO REPELLENT PLANT

depends what ya want to repell ;)

All plants have developed a means to defend themselves - be that by physical (thick leaves and stems, hairy surfaces, sharp thorns) or chemical (stinging nettles, cyanide (almonds), toadstools, caffeine (yes caffeine is as insecticide) means. Without defenses they would perish. in China,camphor tree is well known for preventing insects,it has got some strange smell and can be used to produce camphor ball which people store with spare clothes during different seasons to prevent some kind of worms breaking clothes.

If you get a bunch of weeds tied together with some string...that is  good at repelling and squishing insects:D:D:D

Cedar woods really good at keeping moths away as long as you give it a sanding every little while. it smells good too

Just adding the use of Ceder mulch, even though it is not a living plant, it repels black carpenter ant
