Is anyone else involved in this? (No, it's nothing to do with that girl folding paper in half 12 times!)
It's a project by Stamford university utilising the spare processor time of thousands of home PCs around the world. I don't really understand what it's all about but it's to do with the folding of proteins which they hope will help in the fight against cancer.
The calculations run in background at the lowest processor priority so it doesn't interfere with anything else you do. It seems a worthwhile project & I would urge others to look into it & join in.
Just do a Google search for folding@home. There are lots of links for you to peruse & find out all you want to know.
