Have Tibetans evolved for life at high altitude?

Researchers have discovered why Tibetans who have a taste for the high life are much better able to tolerate low oxygen conditions that you find at higher altitude and thatís compared with the lowland living counterparts.  But it turns out that they carry at least ten unique genes that enable them to do it.

Do they really carry unique genes or has the epigenome unravelled/shuffled/ turned on genes that other societies don't require?
