Venessa Teich  asked the Naked Scientists:

Hi Chris - love your show on 567 Cape Talk!

Please help me understand more about Autism: (doctors don't always have the answers and I want YOUR view PLEASE!)

I have 2 kids (one non-verbal Autistic boy age 9 and daughter 11 with Aspergers Syndrome)- I believe it has a genetic predisposition- immune system is compromised- with environmental issues added.... my kids was clearly "different" before their 18 month injections.

1)  do you know if keeping their blood at PH 7.5 could be of any benefit?  why? (my son has been on a gluten free/ casein free diet since he was 2)

2)  Autistic kids are so sensitive:  anxiety being an everyday problem- any advise on supplements that will have an immediate effect and on supplements with a long term affect ???

3)  do you believe they CANT talk OR they don't think it is necessary to talk??

Thanks for your time!
