What is this copying of the infectious yawn called and do animals demonstate the same phenomenon?

It's claimed contagious yawning is proof the infected yawner is capable of empathy, but I think it's a socially cohesive reflex.

As a firm believer in empirical data i have spent the last few hours yawning at my cat. All he did was go take a dump in the cat litter. I don't know if it means anything but i hope it helps.
