Victoria Lakota asked the Naked Scientists:

Hi  I'm Victoria Lakota and I am eight years old.

Why is water wet?
THANK YOU.

What do you think?

The term "wet" is just a property that we have applied to water so that we can better communicate and understand the world around us. Eventually we would get to: water is "wet" because we said it is. Really the question isn't about water, it is about how we understand the world around us.
