If you are going to engage in strenuous physical activity you should get to know your MD very well and on a regular basis.

My friend's ex-husband was an avid (with a capital A) cyclist he was lean as a whippet and would regard a "century" ride through the Sierras as a pleasant jaunt, It came as a great shock that he was found stone dead by the roadside having keeled over from a heart attack in the boondocks far from help.

I haven't listened to the podcast yet this week. I wonder if they mention the French contestant who collapsed and died on the route. His last words are said to have been, "Put me back on my bike!"...it was like the guy who expired recently on the local gym's rowimg machine, he had passed 11 other virtual racers and was gaining on the 12th when he fell off the saddle.

There are old riders, and there are bold riders...there are no old, bold riders.
