Are there many job options and prospects or is the degree very limited?

I worked for a while as an electronic engineer on a bionic leg (for people who have lost one) and i can tell you that there is not many jobs right now but there is not many people in the field too. In a research point of view, i think it is a very good field because there is many possibilities of application in prosthesis, vehicles and machinery, but there is not much R&D made. You have to like programming...

Not to be picky or anything, but you will also improve your job prospects a lot if you master a spoken language as well as a machine language. There are even some automated tools that help with spelling. Even TNS has one.
