Do Ants use Ant-i-freeze ?

Where do ants go in the winter months ?...are they all dead ?

Not quite sure but they are probably uderground hibernating and living off stored food and each other!

Robert...that's a great article about ants on antibiotics....

I think I agree Ian...either Queenie mass produces a whole bunch more  (hmmm...so where do all the dead ants go?) or they just lie on their backs and put their feet up for the winter.....I suppose they watch TV...I hope they have a good ANTenna !!......   (sorry);)

the use of drugs to alter behavior in animals,birds,and insects is well documented,in this case it just causes ant-isocial behavior [:o)] [:o)] [:o)]

Like bees, ants hibernate as do many other creatures hibernate, red squirrels, hedgehogs and more. But yes they hibernate to preserve their body's fat.

The ants carry leaves on their heads for the nests as the Tree Cutter Ants do as well as red ants, soldier ants others that I can't name right now.
