The scar where the umbilical cord was attached is for storing salt when you're eating celery in bed.  :)

It was of course the attachment scar from where you were joined to the umbilical cord, attached to the placenta inside your mothers Uterus...in the womb.
It provided nutrients etc .. during your fetal development...

I do not know if as a adult it  may serve any other purpose but to provide belly button lint for Sheepy to save...LOL

This has to be the height of bad taste. Eating celery in bed! How could you?

I use it for ketchup to dip my chips in.

C'mon Omid, I'm sure you knew that really! ???

BTW, if you're an individual of poor personal hygiene then it can be used as a low-cost method to pickle olives xx(

Some belly buttons are not good storage devices, they are too shallow and some have a little knot protruding that does not allow one to fill with vodka.

The size and shape of your belly button depends on the skill of your the person who clamped and the conditions during healing. Which is why belly buttons differ as much as people do. (these days I believe they clamp rather than tie the cord.. I don't know if that makes for better bellybutton behavior)
