Can someone help me identify these rocks?
« on: 16/11/2010 16:53:28 »
Hello, I've posted a photo of this type of rock before and got back 1 comment which was appreciated. I did happen to find more which I will post today. Any help would be great.

I found them in Rockland County NY. They were scattered around a field that was recently converted from a wooded area to a public park. I have a bunch of them.

My guess would be some sort of slag from metalworks or refinery.

Thank you for the feed back. I noticed there were many views, but nothing more to add. If anyone has any thoughts I would appreciate it.

Agree, these are man-made slag from an industrial process.
