I do too.
I think it is because of the crust, with a square sandwich you are more likely to eat crust as it runs along 2 edges as opposed to one. It seems like you get less of the soft sandwich with a square too, even though you don't.

Another one, why don't crusts seem all that big, yet when you cut them off the sandwich looks minute?

Perhaps because they are more bite size. I agree, they do taste nicer.

I agree and disagree. I think the triangle sandwich pieces are good because you can bite the edge that is a little crust and a little inside. But I like the square because I rip off the crusts and eat them and then still have the entire middle of the sandwich left - the best part!

I do know of someone who insists that sandwiches should be cut triangular.

To prove that it makes no difference to the taste, I tied him to chair and put gaffer tape over his eyes. I then stuffed a square cut sandwich in his gob and commanded "Eat!" Once he had finished, I stuffed a triangular sandwich in his gob and again commanded "Eat!". When he had finished, I ripped the gaffer tape from his eyes, stuck a bread knife an inch from his nose and menacingly enquired "Now, did they taste any different?"

He replied "Yes, one was pork, the other was beef".

Ah well, back to the drawing board.
