Alena Roberts  asked the Naked Scientists:

Chris,

I was listening to NPR, and they were talking about how people aren't able to walk in a straight line if they're blind folded.

Has there been any experiments on this subject with blind participants?

If a person has been blind since birth, does this mean they really can't walk in a straight line, or does their brain adapt to compensate for their lack of being able to focus on a visual stimulus?

Alena

What do you think?
