I am still taking a stance of "Masterful Inactivity" with Win 7 SP1.

I bought a new computer with Windows 7 in January.  I installed Skype on it to chat to my friend -  this worked reasonably well on my old XP computer (which was 7 years old and otherwise having loads of errors and other problems).   Skype tends to put me "offline" after 20 minutes despite the fact my friend and I are continuing to talk.   My computer is fast so is my cable broadband.    I cannot "end call" - my friend always has  to end it for us so I can go out of Skype.

Does anyone know of a solution?  I confirm my computer is 64 bit with SP1

I found the solution to the problem!  A few days ago it seemed worse - even  with the latest update just being installed.    I happened to click on something then realised it was set for Windows XP even though it was freshly installed and downloaded from Skype website.    I right-clicked on the Skype desktop icon, selected Properties/Compatability then, in the Compatability mode drop-down box I clicked the little arrow to the right of the XP program then selected Windows 7 and clicked OK.  Brilliant!   My friend and I have had uninterrupted conversations ever since!
