Is there a technical word (probably latin), for non-human animal (or just non human)?

Since there are far more species in the animal kingdom than humans, I wouldn't have thought so. It would have to be an all encompassing term, wouldn't it.

I suppose Animalia non Hominidae would be the only option, but what the hell do I know

Would that be the British National Party or the Banco Nacional de Paris?

Let's face it, not much to choose between them!

That's not fair. Toads are much more sensible than that.

True. Toads know when it's time to croak.

Ok I will apologise to toads - and perhaps Don should apologise to leeches; modern medicine and society has a use and need for leeches, which is more than can be said for bankers.

A few years back, when the Euro was just coming in, I was in France on a working holiday (I guess it must have been summer 2001).
I saw a fabulous poster in the window of the bank, which read:
"Soyez Euro avec la BNP!"
Or, loosely translated:
"Go Euro with the BNP!"
My sister, who was there with me, and I had to spend quite a long time explaining to the others in our group (all French) why we'd suddenly started laughing.

I bow my head in shame and apologise most profusely to all leeches. To liken them to bankers is as to liken Mother Teresa to Hannibal Lecter.
