I happen to be very grateful for the bacteria that live in our intestines. Weird as it may seem, without them we would likely be dead.

But if it weren't for all those muscles needing exercise, we could loaf on the couch eating chocolates all day.

Pom-pom Crabs and their flailing anemones  :D

I just think it's genious, and I feel bad for any prey or predator that gets whacked by a wad of nematocysts. Plus, the insult of getting eaten by something called a Pom-pom crab.

No problem, Talia. There are an incredible number of examples of symbiosis out there, and they are all very fascinating. My favorites are the ones that make me laugh, which is why I like the Pom-pom crab so much.

The Attine ants, which cultivate different species of fungi, which then feed the ant colony, is another amazing symbiosis (although it doesn't make me laugh, it's just cool).
