Can birds interbreed?

Dogs breed between breeds, as do cats and other animals. But do birds?

As Woody Allen said, "It's like anything else".

I'm pretty sure variants of some bird species do sometimes interbreed to produce hybrids, so it's probably going to depend on the amount of genetic difference, about which I have no clue, and mating behaviors. Even though two birds are genetically compatible, they may never interbreed naturally.
