Does anyone know whats the reason why horizon A of the soil profile is quite deep eventhough it is located on a slope (on a farmland, where trees occur in fractionated areas throughout), where erosion/transportation of materials would be more active. Normally, it'd be expected to have a thinner soil profile. Are there any other factors contributing to this phenomena?

thank you
