How is time defined?

It doesn't matter what "time" is.  What we call time is a measurement of the motion of something through a set distance.  Earth around the sun is a year.  We measure other motions (atomic. Molecular, human scale, etc) against that set motion. Time is a comparison of at least one motion through distance against another.  The measurement of a distance traveled compared to another is all there is to time.

What do you think?
