Sikander, Biomedical Scientists are not only research scientists! Biomedical Scientists can specialize in certain departments in hospitals to test blood and other tissue derived samples for diagnostic, prognostic, and screening purposes. When your blood get's sent away for a screen, BioMeds test it in the hospital labs. Same goes for HIV, Sickle Cell, Diabetes testing etc. 60% of diagnostics in clinical settings come from the Biomed Labs (so my lecturer tells me).

But as Sikander says, they can also go into research and branch into loads of other things.
