Headline observed in a local conservation/sustainable lifestyle magazine:

"Build Your Own Solar System"

I know what was meant, but ... well... really?!!

A solar hot water system is well within the realm of a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) person.

There are many descriptions on the WWW about assembling solar panels from individual cells, although I think that most people choose to start with solar panels.  There is on reason that the rest of the system couldn't be installed by a DIY person.  However, it can be frustrating that some of the materials needed can't be acquired at the local building supply store.

You mean that kind of a "solar system".

I must admit that it is good to play God once in a while   :D
