How can Cloud Gaming work?
« on: 05/10/2011 19:45:16 »
I recently stumbled upon redacted a cloud based gaming website that offers to let you pay to play games using cloud software and it also means that you do not have to have a incredibly complex high end PC to play it on. My question is how can this happen when on discs if you ran them on a computer such as a laptop they would constantly load and be so slow the games were not worth playing?

SORRY no commercial links

The cloud computer is doing all the hard work, e.g. rendering the 3-D environment in real time.
Your laptop is then just a remote screen and remote control, no more strenuous than streaming video (e.g. watching a YouTube video).

Although Id be surprised if there wasnt an annoying time-lag between pressing a control and changing the action.

That is the thing I thought it would and my Internet has a slow  connection speed (ping or what ever it's called) and its wireless as well but no delays whatsoever.

there should be lag unless the server isn't being stressed or not enough users playing.
