Science Teacher Training
« on: 02/05/2006 11:46:44 »

I am considering doing a full time science PGCE at nottingham university or possibly nottingham trent starting in September. I just wondered if anyone can offer me any advice or things to look out for when researching where to do the PGCE? I have already done a BSc Aviation Technology and would be interested in teaching mainly physics so would i have to do a physics PGCE?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Best Wishes

I don't wish to put you off or anything but I wouldn't advise Nottingham purley because it's an awful place; so awful infact I am moving away a.s.a.p. Of course, if you are choosing Nottingham for some other reason then just ignore this as I appreciate you may have some glowing desire to be in Nottingham.
Having had the opportunity to visit several schools in Nottingham, I can tell you that when it comes to your placement, you will more than likley be thrown in the deep end. This may, however, be seen as an advantage; that is not for me to decide.
Hope this was some use...probably wasn't....ohwell :(
