Anytime i lie on my left side i allways, without exception have a really bad nightmare i never have them any other way of sleeping. Dont know if its connected but I used to wake up and couldnt move for about a minute ive never been so scared in my life i told my doctor and he said i was probably dreaming which im sure i was not. This happend for a few years also it would happen in reverse as i would drift of i could feel myself loosing control of my body which if i didnt move i knew that feeling of bein paralized would soon be overpowering where as now i dont remember anything about falling asleep and when i wake all my functions seem in my control

Sleep paralysis occurs either when falling asleep, or when awakening. When it occurs upon falling asleep, the person remains aware while the body shuts down for REM sleep, and it is called hypnagogic or predormital sleep paralysis. When it occurs upon awakening, the person becomes aware before the REM cycle is complete, and it is called hypnopompic or postdormital. The paralysis can last from several seconds to several minutes, with some rare cases being hours, "by which the individual may experience panic symptoms
