Why is Cinnamon So Difficult To Swallow ?

Dearest Cinnamonologists,

As a sheepy I of course hate Cinnamon. Cinnamon , as ewe know, is the devils scrotum fungus and irritates me muchly !

Here is the stuff in all it's disgusting awe ,




Cinammon Earlier Today Trying To Look Innocent and Naive

Disgusting eh ?

Now, take a look at this : video..lol

This is just how disgusting that devils fungus is !!

Why is that ?..Why Is Cinnamon So Impossible To Swallow ? What's The Chemistry Behind The Science Of It ???


ewe see, I just do not know !!..I'd like to know and I reckon ew elot know it ...because ewe're all klevur and stuff !


Help me know so that I may pass on the knowledge and therefore make me be klevur !

Sheepy - Hello again. 

It dries the mouth out very rapidly, and is an irritant so that any dust (and it will be dust cos it dried your mouth out) will cause you to sneeze and choke.  This of course ends up with sprays of cinnamon everywhere

Thank ewe so much imatfaal chum. Dries the mouth eh ?.....Would you happen to also know ....Is there a technical term for this type of substance by any chance with regard to this specific kwality ?.....How does it dry the mouth ? It's like super absorbent maybe ?...hmmm...could it be ewesed to cleanse up spillages ?

I sheepose I could just Wiki it but I expect it's a bark of some sort !....

They tried it on Mythbusters too.  And...  it may in fact be possible to eat a spoonful of cinnamon.  [xx(]

According to HowStuffWorks, the cinnamon sticks that you can buy is the bark of the young shoots off of a cinnamon tree.  Actually, Wikipedia mentions an additional step of discarding the outer layers.

I would wonder if the cinnamon is produced by the tree to deter animals and insects from eating the young shoots.

Anyway, the cinnamon sticks can be ground up to form cinnamon powder.

Excellentay....thank ewe Cliffordk. It's a great defence mechanism !..Ewe certainly won't catch me eating young cinnamon tree shoots !
