Do Swarming Insects Avoid Each Other Or Not ?
« on: 07/10/2012 16:41:07 »
Dearest Swarmologists,

As a sheepy I of course have an avid interest into the nature of swarming insects !

Look, here are some locusts !

Locusts Swarming Yesterday Afternoon About 15:00.

Do they keep banging into each other or do insects have some kind of 'personal-space radar' ?
I mean, some of them swarms are real dense !!

whajafink ?

They bump into each other frequently as they are all trying to take a bite out of one another while trying to avoid having a bite taken out of themselves. It's a locust eat locust world out there.

Thanks grizelda....so...even though they know the rules they're quite arrogant stubborn beasties.....well..I'm just glad doggies don't swarm like that !....don't like the idea of doggy bits falling from the sky as they chomp at each other !  ;)
